7 / 10 Not Verified | The flight was okay, I think it was worth the money, the seats were quite comfortable. The toilets were clean, and the prices were quite fair. The only downside was that this was a night flight and the lights were on the whole flight except takeoff and landing. We did have a 3 hour delay but I believe this isn’t TUI’s fault, great airline.

What type of planes do TUI use?
TUI – We have a range of aircraft in the fleet ranging from the Boeing 737 to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Making our fleet as fuel-efficient as possible is something we’re constantly working on and we were named Most Environmentally & Socially Responsible Airline (2006-2010) at the British Travel Awards.

Re: Thomson Dreamliner to cancun premium upgrade, is it worth it 4 years ago All depends on the individual(s) travelling and what you want from the flight, I am 6ft2 with long legs, and struggle to get comfortable on economy flights, am normally very lucky and travel BA Business Class more often than not, but a couple of years ago we flew on a package holiday in economy to Sharm (not Thomson).
- I could not sit for the flight due to the cramped conditions.
- Upgraded to extra space on way back but it was not much better.
- Anyway this year we were flying Thomson to Cancun, so I paid for the family and I to upgrade to Premium.
- Outbound – due to plane going tech they had to put a replacement plane on the route, this meant that they did not have a Premium cabin, but instead they had extra leg room seats in it’s place.
At first I was really unhappy but once I got on board I found extra leg room in that configuration to be very comfortable indeed.Now I am not sure if we got more legroom as they were in the forward cabin or if that was standard for the extra legroom but they were brilliant.
- Coming back we had the proper Premium seats, and these were even better for me.
- In both directions I was able to stretch out and was even able to sleep (something I rarely do on a flight ).
- Service was very good, a little too generous with the alcohol but I didn’t complain! All in all, for me, I would upgrade every time.
As a minimum to extra leg room, but if I can afford it the extra for Premium is well worth it. I did enjoy the frequent service, the smaller cabin with more privacy and the room I had for my legs.
What is TUI Dreamliner like?
We were impressed with the dreamliner, very airy comfortable and spacious, would have given 5 stars but disappointed with the quality of the meals and quantity of drinks available. Have booked again but upgraded our seats.

Best seats in the Premium cabin are definitely Row 1 A/C or G/J where you will have loads of extra legroom and no difficulty getting in and out of your window seat.
Do TUI seat you together?
Terms and conditions – Online check-in You can check in online 72 hours before your flight. Once you check in you’ll automatically be allocated your seats on the plane, on a first come, first served basis. If you have booked a return trip you will check in for the return leg of your journey separately to your outbound flight.
This will also be available 72 hours before departure. If you buy Select Your Seat, you will be able to select your seats 90 days before your return flight. If you have bought an upgraded seating product, like Extra Space Seats, Extra Legroom Seats or Premium Seats, you’ll be able to select your seats as soon as you have booked.
You can choose your seat numbers using a digital plan of the aircraft. As part of the online check-in process, you’ll be asked to confirm that you understand the restrictions on carrying dangerous goods in your hold luggage or hand luggage. Please ensure you check this information carefully.
To complete online check-in, you must print boarding passes for yourself and all of the other passengers on your booking. For holidays to the USA, Cuba, Mexico, Jamaica and Costa Rica, your boarding passes can’t be printed at home. You’ll need to print your ‘confirmation of check in’ document instead. You can exchange this for your boarding card at the airport check-in desk.

You may need to repeat the online check-in process and re-print your boarding cards. You’ll need to show your boarding pass with your passport at the airport before boarding. Jet2 Hot drinks and hot food are not allowed to be brought onto Jet2’s planes. But the rules do not say anything about not bringing cold food, such as sandwiches, from home or the departure lounge. Jet2’s rules state that customers are not allowed to bring food on board if it is “prohibited from being carried by the applicable laws, regulations or orders of any country to be flown from, to or over”.
Passengers also cannot bring “items which in our reasonable opinion are unsuitable for carriage by reason of their weight, size or character or which are fragile or perishable or which may affect the safety, health or comfort of other passengers or crew, this may include hot or strong smelling foods and drinks”.
However, if you’ve got it through security, can fit it in your bag and it does not have a strong smell, you should be fine to bring your own cold food and snacks on board. TUI Passengers travelling with TUI can bring their own food on board. It advises passengers to bring “low-risk food such as pre-made sandwiches and snacks that can be eaten cold”.
British Airways Passengers can take solid foods like sandwiches, biscuits, fruit, nuts, etc, onto the plane. Liquids like drinks, soups, sauces, jams and jellies must be in clear containers with a capacity of no more than 100ml. British Airways adds: “You can buy duty-free liquids, gels or cream products of more than 100ml from airport shops or on board, provided that they have been sealed at the point of purchase in a Security Tamper Evident Bag with the receipt inside.” Holiday-goers have been issued stark warnings over the last few weeks as passengers face ‘chaotic’ queues in airports right across the UK.
